Police have left the scene of the stabbing now.

It all happened at an apartment complex on St. Vrain Place in Colorado Springs.

A man accused of seriously injuring his wife has been arrested by Colorado Springs Police.

27 year old Gabriel Mares allegedly assaulted his wife on Thursday afternoon in the 24-hundred block of E. San Rafael Street , but when police got there Mares was gone. Mares who also had outstanding misdemeanor and felony warrants was arrested overnight.

Carrier to be sentenced this morning

Joshua Carrier, the former Colorado Springs police officer convicted on sex assault charges is scheduled to be sentenced in court this morning.

Carrier was convicted last year of multiple charges involving 18 students while volunteering as an assistant wrestling coach at Horace Mann Middle School. Carrier was also a school resource officer for the school.

Police are on the scene of a homicide near Maizeland and Academy.

Details are still sketchy, but the first call came as a burglary at the Park Ridge Apartments in the 26-hundred block of Serendipity.
