The City of Colorado Springs held a news conference Thursday morning where Mayor Bach thanked the heros and first responders who helped out during last night's storm.
The Mayor called it a 100-year storm and said there were 40 rescues, with many trapped in or on top of vehicles and 600 calls to 9-1-1 over a 2-hour period.
"We've got the best police and fire department and great public works department," Bach said.
The city departments are still assessing damage from flooding, trees down on cars and there is still one intersection, Chelton and Santa Rosa at the west entrance to the Citadel Mall, where traffic signals are not working. Treat such intersections as a 4-way stop.
The city said that a storm damage total is not yet known, but there could be extensive damage to drainage areas and that is still being assessed.
A city rain gauge recorded 3.57" of rain near Templeton Gap and Austin Bluffs.
Among the hardest hit areas were Chelton and Platte, Maizeland and Academy, Constitution and Circle and Galley and Chelton.
The street division has a phone number for people to call and report damage: 719-385-5934
So far, there have been no injuries or fatalities.
Meanwhile, the Storm Prediction Center has eastern Colorado and the Colorado Springs metro area under a slight risk of severe weather for later today.

Pueblo emergency workers are on stand by in case of problems on Fountain Creek as it runs through Pueblo.
The storm dropped more than three inches of rain on some parts of Colorado Springs and that water eventually makes its way into Fountain Creek. The U.S. Geological Survey station in Fountain showed the water volume in Fountain Creek went from 70 cubic feet per second yesterday afternoon to 6,000 cfs by last night. It has now dropped back to 150 cfs. That raised the water depth briefly by more than five feet.
This morning the creek is 18 inches deeper than it was yesterday and the water volume has increased from 40 cfs to 1,000 cfs.
Pueblo Police Officers are patrolling homeless camps to make sure people stay safe. The Pueblo Fire Department recommends people stay away from the river trail if it is under water or appears to have been undercut by rushing water.
