Homes damaged in the Black Forest fire rises

The number of homes destroyed in the Black Forest Fire is now 509.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office released the new figures Tuesday night. They say 28 homes have partial damage and 3,653 appear unaffected.

Inmates return to prison evacuated by wildfire

CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) - Inmates who were transferred from a prison in Canon City due to the wildfire near the Royal Gorge Bridge are heading back.
The Colorado Department of Corrections says it started moving inmates back to the Colorado Territorial Correctional Facility on Tuesday.

Gold for Colorado Capitol dome back from Italy

DENVER (AP) - The gold that will be used to replace the gilding on the state Capitol dome is back in Colorado after being transformed into gold leaf in Italy.

Ex-volunteer firefighter pleads to setting fire
