14 apply for council seat

14 people have already thrown their hat in the ring for a seat on the Colorado Springs City Council. They include business leaders, professors and a former schoolboard president.
Heimlicher, who represents District 3, is resigning at the end of Sept. People have until Monday to apply for the spot
Applicants so far are:
Paul Johnson , Executive Director of Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity
Philip Lane, former local Pepsi distributor.
David Lord, a retired Asset Manager and Colorado College Business Manager
Peter Maiurro, Deputy Director of Penrose House at El Pomar Foundation
Janet Suthers, Former President, Cheyenne Mountain Board of Education
Don Ortega, who says he served in the US Army.
Dennis Moore, a retired program analyst at the Air Force and adjunct professor at Pikes Peak Community College
Miles Dewhirst, a lawyer
Martin Burlingame, owner Martin Burlingame Insurance Agency
Ryan Acker, executive director, Pikes Peak Gay & Lesbian Community Center
Les Crane, former commercial real estate owner and operator
Lisa Czelatdko, program manager for 2009 Pikes Peak Miracle Meters program
Prince Dunn, retired business and financial manager
Charles Guy, adjunct professor at Colorado Technical University
