2 Colo. horses quarantined with virus after show

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - Colorado agriculture officials have quarantined two horse locations after horses contracted equine herpes after attending a horse show in Ogden, Utah.

One of the horses had to be euthanized, and the other is under observation. The Greeley Tribune reports that two Weld County horse locations are under quarantine.

The horses had recently attended the National Cutting Horse Association's Western National Championships in Ogden, Utah. Colorado officials are working with the Utah State Veterinarian to investigate the location.

Equine Herpesvirus is highly contagious among horses, but poses no health threat to humans.
