Colorado Springs police have taken a 20-year-old into custody accused of several charges related to a child prostitution investigation.
Police spokesperson Barbara Miller tells News 5 Trevor Van Baker was arrested and booked into the Criminal Justice Center on Saturday; he has since bonded out.
Miller says the investigation is continuing. At last check Colorado Springs police are still deciding if the case should be handled by their Internet Crimes Against Children (or ICAC) unit or the Metro Vice Narcotics and Intelligence (or MVNI) unit. The ICAC unit made the arrest on Friday. Police are releasing little else about their investigation at the time of this posting other than it is ongoing.
Baker faces seven charges in all; felony charges of pimping of a child, pandering of a child, procurement of a child, keeping a place of child prostitution, inducement of child prostitution, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and a misdemeanor for driving under the influence.
A temporary restraining order was granted against Baker for two females Monday. A hearing on a permanent order is scheduled for later in the month.
Questions still remain; like what led police to make this arrest, what was happening at the time, and is this part of any larger operation?
Record show Baker's arrest stems from an incident on April 11th. More information could become available about the investigation through court records being released after Baker's advisement hearing scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
