20-year-old woman dies in car crash

A 20-year-old woman is dead after the vehicle she was in rolled on Union Boulevard in Colorado Springs Tuesday afternoon.

Colorado Springs Police say the woman was driving her black Ford Explorer southbound on Union Boulevard around 3:30 this afternoon when she lost control, went over the median and rolled in the northbound lane, causing a chain-reaction crash with four other vehicles.

The woman was tossed from the vehicle and died.  Another person had to go to the hospital with minor injuries.  Police say that speed was a factor in the accident, but they were not sure whether or not slick roads contributed.

The El Paso County Coroner will perform and autopsy.  Police are expected to release her name Wednesday.
