Burglars get stuck inside medical marijuana shop

Three Fort Carson soldiers were arrested early Saturday morning after a failed burglary attempt at a south eastern Colorado Springs medical marijuana facility. "They busted the doorknob off with a hammer and then they jimmied the door open." explains Rocky Road Remedies shop owner Renze Waddington, "But the locking mechanism itself locked again when the door shut in on itself."

The three men, later identified as 23 year old Darius Thomas, 22 year old Cory Young, and 22 year old Ramone Hollins were locked in. On the surveillance video the three desperately try to find a way out of the shop. They try to bust open the front door when police arrive. Even if they had been able to get away, they would have done it empty handed. "All of the inventory and marijuana was put in a safe at night." says Waddington, "There was never any chance for the would-be thieves to access it."

Waddington is relieved the three were caught, and can now look at the video and laugh a little. "When you look at the security tapes it is kind of comical watching them running back and forth trying to get away from the cops while running from one end of the building to the next." he says.
