CAMPO, Colo. (AP) - A fatal rollover accident in Baca County sparked a 3-square-mile wildfire in grasslands that destroyed a home and a fire truck.
Baca County Emergency Management Director Riley Frazee says crews were able to contain the blaze early Sunday and residents in 10 evacuated homes were allowed to return.
No injuries were reported in the blaze that also damaged another home.
The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash on a county road 11 miles northeast of Campo that killed a 15-year-old girl. Investigators say the car caught fire after it rolled over and landed in a field.
The blaze was one of three wildfires that volunteer fire departments from the county responded to Saturday as hot, dry and windy conditions lingered in the area.
