4 Detroit police officers shot at precinct

DETROIT (AP) - A police official says a gunman opened fire inside a Detroit police precinct, shooting at least four officers including a commander.

Sgt. Todd Eby tells the Detroit Free Press that he was sitting at his desk at the precinct on the city's northwest side when the gunman walked in at about 4:20 p.m. on Sunday with a pistol grip shotgun and opened fire.

Eby says officers returned fire, killing the man. The conditions of the officers were not immediately known.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens tells The Associated Press earlier that she didn't immediately have any information on the shooting. A news conference was expected Sunday night.
