State Patrol investigators say a driver may have been driving too fast on a slushy, wet I-25 Friday afternoon, causing a serious two car accident.
It happened six miles south of Walsenburg on I-25 near milepost 43. A southbound 2003 Toyota Sequoia spun into the center median, across the northbound side, into the guardrail and into traffic. It was hit by a 2004 Honda Pilot.
The Toyota's driver, Paul fatur and his 17 year old passenger were seriously hurt. The 17 year old had to be flown to Denver for treatment. The Honda's driver and passenger were also hurt.
Paul Fatur was cited with three counts of careless driving.
