40 Colorado schools make Newsweek's list of top high schools

Colorado - Forty Colorado high schools made Newsweek's list of the top 2,000 public high schools Monday.
The school were ranked based on graduation and college-acceptance rates, test scores and the percentage of students enrolled in accelerated classes.
Of the 40 schools, Aspen High School was the only one that wasn't located near the Front Range. A majority of the schools are in the Denver metro area.
Peak to Peak Charter School in Lafayette had the highest ranking at number 49, followed by Fairview High School (98), D'Evelyn Jr./Sr. High School (174), Aspen High School (286) and Cherry Creek High School (385).

In Colorado Springs, Rampart High School had the highest ranking at number 479, followed by Cheyenne Mountain High School (676), The Classical Academy (766), Air Academy High School (1078), The Vanguard School (1095) and James Irwin Charter High School (1242).
