A 6-year-old girl died and a 4-year-old boy was seriously injured in a rollover crash Sunday afternoon on State Highway 96 in Crowley County. Colorado State Patrol says the 29-year-old driver, Jamie Netherton of Ordway, may have been inattentive at the time of the crash around 2:15 p.m. Sunday.

State Patrol says Netherton was driving eastbound on Highway 96 when she drifted her vehicle off the left side of the road, then overcorrected it off the right side of the road, hitting a culvert and rolling end-over-end before coming to a rest on its wheels.

Netherton was not wearing a seat belt and was flown to Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo with serious injuries. A 6-year-old girl in the back seat was also taken to Parkview, but died as the result of her injuries. She was wearing a seat belt, but was not in a child safety seat. A 4-year-old boy in the back seat was also restrained by a safety belt, but not a child safety seat, and was initially taken to Parkview before being flown to Children's Hospital in Denver with serious injuries.

State Patrol says inattentive driving is being considered as a contributing factor in the crash. Drugs and alcohol are also being investigated as contributing factors, but no further information was released.
