Denver Mayor Michael Hancock is promising a crackdown over reports city employees failed to pay hundreds of photo-speed-van and red-light-camera fines after they were caught while driving city cars.

A records review shows more than 600 violation notices have not been paid since 2009.

One city vehicle captured breaking the red-light rules at an intersection was a parking-attendant's vehicle.

Most city agencies have a policy that requires employees to pay for red-light and photo-speed citations issued while they are driving a city vehicle.
