90-miles-per-hour chase suspect identified

The felony suspect who led deputies on a 90-miles-per-hour chase through Colorado Springs just after midnight has been identified as Lee Lacey.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office reports that it had Lacey under surveillance at his home. Just after midnight, he and two other people got into a car and drove off. Deputies tried to stop the car at Galley and Circle Dr. That's when Lacey took off, according to EPCSO.

The 12- minute chase reached a top speed of 90-miles-an-hour.  It ended at the intersection of Jetwing and Fountain when Lacey slammed into a truck. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Lauri Lacey, who was a passenger in the car, suffered minor injuries.

Lee Lacey was checked at a hospital, then booked into jail on the following charges:

  • Felony Vehicular Eluding
  • Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument
  • Driving Under the Infuluence of Drugs
  • Driving Under Restraint
  • Reckless Driving
  • Duty to Report (Upon Striking an Unattended Vehicle)
  • Failure to use Turn Signals
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 

The whereabouts of the third person was not been disclosed by the sheriff's office.
