A priceless recovery

At first, Jim Huffman didn't realize he'd lost it. It wasn't until he'd returned home from dropping off his newspapers in the recycling bin that he noticed his wedding band was missing.

At 84 years old, Huffman has celebrated two 25 year anniversaries. His first wife died years ago and he met Jean at a church group for grieving spouses.

The two of them thoroughly searched their home on Monday afternoon until at last they decided that the ring must have somehow become caught in the door of the recycling bin. But it was a holiday and there was no one to call.

After making a series of calls on Tuesday morning he finally got in touch with Beth Lenz at the Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments who operates the recycling program in Florence.

"She didn't tell me 'we'll see if we find anything,'" Huffman recalls. "She said 'we'll find it.'"

What happened after that call is nothing short of a miracle. Tonight on News Five at 6:00, we'll introduce you to the heroes of this story, a group of everyday people who made a difference by dropping what they were doing to help a stranger in need.
