A shower possible this afternoon

As the storm system that brought snow to the mountains yesterday and last night exits Colorado, high pressure will build into our area from the north. That high pressure will push the wind against the eastern slopes of the Rockies. That upslope wind will generate more cloud cover and even a few rain showers or snow flurries. The best chance for rain will be on Monument Hill. The snow flurries are most likely over Teller County.

Morning clouds will thin, but they will begin increasing again after 2 PM. We will warm into the 50's when the clouds break, though if they hold tight a little longer we may not break out of the 40's.

Expect highs today in the upper 40's and lower 50's from Colorado Springs to Monument with low-to-mid 40's in Teller County, mid to upper 50's around Pueblo and Walsenburg, and low-to-mid 60's for the Southeastern Plains and Trinidad.
