US AIR FORCE ACADEMY - Hey kids, have you ever wondered what it's like in space? Why not ask an astronaut about it? This week the US Air Force Academy is collecting questions from local students from kindergarten through 12th grade to be asked of former astronaut and retired Air Force Col. Jim Dutton. The questions will be collected and answered in a video posted online next month.
Dutton is an Academy graduate and was the pilot of the Space Shuttle Discovery during the STS-131 mission which brought fresh supplies to the International Space Station in 2010.
The Ask an Astronaut program is part of the Academy's STEM outreach that hopes to get younger generations excited about science, technology, engineering and math. Questions can emailed to STEM@usafa.edu.
