Accidental Shooting Leads to Arrest

Colorado Springs, CO - An early morning accidental shooting lead to the arrest of the victim's step-daughter. Colorado Springs Police said they arrived on scene in the 400 block of S. Hancock Avenue around 2:30am Friday, in response to a call of a shooting.

Police said the victim had accidentally shot himself with an antique shot, the bullet grazed his chest and arm. The victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment.

But while on scene, police said the victim's step-daughter. 19-year-old Kimber Dorsey, began interfering with the investigation. Officers then took her into custody. But as police were putting Dorsey into the patrol car, Police said she kicked one of the officers in the hand.

Dorsey is now charged with Obstruction and Second Degree Assault on a Peace Officer. No one else was arrested on the scene.
