AFA cadet faces court martial

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo., - A court martial is scheduled Monday, April 22, at the Academy for a cadet who faces two charges of sexual misconduct and one charge of unlawful entry.
Cadet 2nd Class (Junior) Jamil D. Cooks originally had two charges preferred against him in September 2012. Charge 1 has one specification of violating Article 80 for attempted sodomy. Charge 2 has three specifications of violating Article 120, one for aggravated sexual assault and two for aggravated sexual contact. An additional charge with two specifications of violating Article 134 for unlawful entry was preferred against Cadet Cooks in February.
It must be emphasized that charges are merely accusations, and that Cadet Cooks is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
