AFA researchers harness wave energy

Air Force Academy researchers harnessed 99 percent of the energy in a simulated ocean wave, the Academy announced this week.
"The energy research is part of a National Science Foundation-funded research project to create the world's first free-floating, fully submerged wave energy converter that generates electrical power from deep ocean waves," according to John Van Winkle, Academy spokesman.
Dr. Stefan Siegel is leading the research effort at the Air Force Academy.
