Close to 100 Air Force Academy cadets spent part of their day outside Sunday helping to clear land that has been damaged in the Mountain Shadows neighborhood of Colorado Springs.
The cadets worked in the heat to remove dead and fallen branches, and it's not the first time they've pitched in for homeowners.
Cadets have been helping to clean this area damaged by the Waldo Canyon Fire throughout the past year.
In fact just about one year ago, more than 300 cadets worked to removed tons of damaged material to help people clean up after the fire.
"I'm a resident in the area, and we've had a lot of cadets ask how they can help ever since they arrived, many of them shortly after the fires," said Col. Marty France, of the Air Force Academy.
They say folks who live in the area have been bringing them food and water.
Today, the city fire department will come through and collect the limbs that have been cleared out.
