Many of us have watched the new solar array sprouting from the ground of the Air Force Academy alongside I-25, just north of the N. Academy Blvd. exit. Today officials are celebrating its completion and getting ready to "flip the switch."
The array is expected to generate about 6-megawatts of solar-generated energy. It will tap into and help supplement Colorado Springs Utilities.
Monday evening on News First 5 we'll talk about the project, as well as the impact this facility will have on our local energy grid.
