Anyone heading north this coming weekend is being strongly advised to avoid I-25 through Denver as much as possible.
Due to a roadwork project CDOT plans to shut down all lanes of the interstate for much of the weekend, starting Friday, August 8th at 10 p.m. The closure will start at Santa Fe and end at US 6. That initial closure will last until 8 a.m. Saturday morning.
The longest closure will take place between 10 p.m. Saturday night and 5 a.m. Monday morning, meaning all lanes will remain closed through the day and night Sunday.
The project will result in a fourth lane along northbound I-25 as a means of easing congestion during peak travel times.
