Alleged kidnapper still at large, frequents area

The man wanted for allegedly kidnapping an 8-year-old girl in the Stratmoor Hills area is still at large.

Sheriff's deputies say a white man in a blue sedan grabbed the girl while she was walking down the 1200 block of Forest Rd., then drove her around for about fifteen minutes before dropping her off nearby.

Neighbors say this isn't the first time they've seen that suspect scouting the area for children. "He slows down when he sees little girls. The girls across the street were playing in the swimming pool in their bathing suits and that intrigued him a lot," Sylvana Cadena says. Cadena lives just yards from where the girl was taken.

Area residents describe the man as an older white male with balding hair and leathery skin. They say they've seen him driving around the neighborhood in at least four different vehicles: the blue sedan allegedly used in the kidnapping, a green jeep, and a black rusted sedan, all older models. Neighbors also believe they saw the suspect today in a shiny blue sedan with silver trim on the windows.

Officials are still investigating; if you have any information you're asked to call the El Paso County Sheriff's Office at 390-5555.
