A pair of giant pandas who were born in the United States have arrived at their new home in China.

Workers at the Bifengxia breeding base welcomed the two pandas after their flight from Washington, DC.

Millions of people fell in love with Tai Shan, who was born in Washington, and Mei Lan, who was born at the Atlanta Zoo, while watching them grow up online using panda cams.

China lent Tai Shan's and Mei Lan's parents to American zoos for conservation and breeding.

About 1,600 giant pandas live in the wild, and another 290 are in captive-breeding programs worldwide, mainly in China.
