High winds and low humidity point to another day of extreme fire danger in southeast Colorado. The worst danger is along the slopes of the eastern mountains and into the southeast plains. At the same time, there's a chance of heavy snow over the central and western mountains of Colorado.

Our WeatherBug station in Beulah has already reported winds of 70 miles an hour. La Veta pass has reported 50 mile an hour gusts and Monarch Pass has hit 70 miles an hour. Strong winds are expected to continue, especially in the Wet Mountains, the southern Sangre de Cristo mountains and the Pikes Peak region. Winds of 75 miles an hour expected later today in those areas.
