Arizona fugitives appear in court

ST. JOHNS, Ariz. (AP) - Two Arizona fugitives who were captured after a three-week manhunt appeared in court Friday, where their bond was set at $1 million each.
John McCluskey and Casslyn Welch, his cousin and fiancee, were two of the most wanted fugitives in America before their capture Thursday evening at a remote Arizona campsite. Welch is accused of helping McCluskey and two other inmates escape from a privately run state prison near Kingman on July 30.

Their next scheduled court appearance is Aug. 27 in Kingman, where they face a long list of felony charges. A forest ranger who alertly spotted the pair is being hailed as
"a true hero" after his tip allowed a heavily armed law enforcement contingent to capture the couple.
