Armed robber still on the loose

The search continues for a man who robbed an El Paso County medical marijuana facility at gunpoint Monday around noon.

It's the New Horizons dispensary on Woolsey Heights, on the east side of Colorado Springs.

Sheriff's deputies say a man in his mid to late 20s walked in, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money and other items. The clerk is okay.

A K-9 unit and heavily armed Sheriff's deputies combed the area near the store looking for the man. They aren't sure if New Horizons was the only business affected.

"There was an initial report that he might have been in one of the businesses before this business. They were not robbed however, but we'll certainly be making contact with other business owners to see if there's additional surveillance footage, things of that nature," explains Lt. Jeff Kramer with the El Paso County Sheriff's office.

Deputies say the suspect is a white man in his mid to late 20s; at the time of the robbery he was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, a camouflage fishing hat and sunglasses. Lt. Kramer says the man had what looks like a semi-automatic handgun; he left heading to the west.
