Colorado Springs Police are investigating a rare armed robbery inside Garden of the Gods Park.
Police on motorcycles and with canine units scoured the park for several hours Wednesday afternoon looking for the 2 suspects.
The victims are from San Luis Obispo, California visiting family and friends in the Denver area.
Joan Kunkler says she and her brother were walking along a trail from the main parking lot, when they noticed 2 men behind them.
"I thought to myself , 'If I was on a city street I'd be worried'," but Kunkler said she wasn't worried because they were in the park and didn't think anything bad would happen.
But moments later she says one of the suspects pulled out a gun and told them to drop everything.
"All I thought was, you know, do what they say, don't argue, if he wants my bag he can have my bag it's not worth my life." Kunkler said, "So I dropped everything. I think I said 'you gotta be kidding', they took it and I started running."
Police say no one else saw the robbery, but witnesses did hear the screaming.
The suspects are an Hispanic man and a black man, both in their 20s to 30s and possibly driving a white van.
