FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - The new commander at Fort Carson will be Maj. Gen. Joseph Anderson.
The Army announced Thursday that Anderson will take command of the post outside Colorado Springs, as well as the 4th Infantry Division. He replaces Maj. Gen. David Perkins.
Anderson is currently director of operations, readiness and mobilization for the Army deputy chief of staff at the Pentagon.
Previously he served as chief of staff at Fort Hood, Texas, deputy commander of the Army Recruiting Command at Fort Knox, Ky., and chief of staff for the multinational force in Iraq.
The Army hasn't said when Anderson will arrive at Fort Carson.
The Army announced last month Perkins would be promoted to lieutenant general and would become commander of the Army Combined Arms Center at Fort Leavenworth, Kan.
