ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - The Aspen airport says last year was its busiest for commercial passenger traffic since 1998.
The Aspen-Pitkin County Airport reports that the number of people who boarded a commercial flight in Aspen last year was up 3.,7 percent from 2009. The Aspen Times says the number was the highest in dozen years.
United Express continued to be the Aspen airport's dominant commercial carrier in 2010.
Frontier was second. Frontier announced last July that it would pull out of the Aspen market, then a few weeks later said it would serve the resort through this winter. Frontier now says it's considering continued service to Aspen after April with a different aircraft.
Delta Air Lines stopped service to Aspen in March, 2010.
