DENVER (AP) - Denver prosecutors have dropped an assault charge against an 85-year-old man accused of hitting a parking attendant over the head with a walking cane.
The attorney for John Copeland told The Denver Post Friday that prosecutors had decided to drop the assault charge his client faced. Copeland had been charged after an incident Dec. 15 at the parking lot of a Home Depot in Denver's Stapleton neighborhood.
Copeland was accused of hitting the parking lot monitor once because of a disagreement about Copeland's handicap placard. The parking attendant was a 66-year-old man who volunteered for the Denver Office of Disability Rights.
