Avs finally fall on the road

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - Rene Bourque scored twice and Miikka Kiprusoff made 34 saves to lead the Calgary Flames over the Colorado Avalanche 4-2 on Wednesday night.

Roman Horak scored his first NHL goal and added an assist for Calgary. Lee Stempniak got his first goal of the season in the second period.

Kyle Quincey and Ryan Wilson scored for Colorado, which had won six straight road games. The Avalanche were one short of the franchise record for consecutive wins away from home.
