Babies born in November or December face a higher risk for food allergies. Experts say that could be because their first three months of development took place in the spring -- when pollen levels are at an annual high.

Researchers in Finland studied 6,000 children, and found those whose first trimester ended by April or may were three times more likely to have milk and egg allergies.

The children all lived in one area of Finland. Experts say broader studies are needed to confirm the results.

The study was published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.
