Colorado Springs Mayor Elect Steve Bach says that he will be spending the next few weeks choosing his chief of staff and preparing to take office. In an interview with News First 5, Bach said he has a list of about five candidates in mind for the chief of staff position but didn't want to disclose who was on that list just yet.
He takes office as the city's first strong mayor meaning he will act more as the chief executive of the city, replacing the city manager position.
Bach says his priorities will be addressing the city budget and improving the local economy.
Bach defeated Richard Skorman in a run off election Tuesday. He will take the oath of office on June 7.
