Back home after helping out

A car dealer and doctors from Memorial Hospital have been on a week long relief effort. Saturday night, they returned to Colorado Springs.

Ten people, including eight doctors, returned to family and friends after a week long trip to Haiti.

They found several ways to help, especially by setting up a makeshift hospital to help all the people injured in the earthquake. Some Haitians had injuries that had been left untreated for days.

Colorado car dealer Bob Penkhus says he originally planned to fly to Florida, to fly doctors back and forth between Haiti and America. However, he heard that local doctors wanted to help so he helped organize this trip.

After dropping the doctors off in Haiti, Penkhus helped fly medical teams and supplies between Florida and the island.

Doctors say they would like to plan a return trip in the near future.
