Bahrain's opposition is asking for U.N. and American intervention

MANAMA, Bahrain (AP) - Bahrain's opposition is asking for U.N. and American intervention as the government cracks down on Shiite protests. In a brief protest at U.N. offices in Bahrain's capital, 18 former legislators appealed for U.N. help to end violence against protesters and mediate talks between the opposition and the Sunni monarchy.
