Bar shooting victim and suspect had violent history

PUEBLO - Detectives with the Pueblo Police Department think the suspect and one of the victims from last week's double murder at bar in Bessemer share a violent history together. Damen Delvon Blake, 33, is being held on two counts of first degree murder for the shooting last Thursday morning at Sharky's Bar on East Evans.

Victim Quincey Coats, 23, was suspected of shooting Blake multiple times in the chest on May 26, according to the arrest warrant. Blake survived that shooting.

Autopsy findings show Coates was shot at least 11 times including three shots to the head. He died at the scene.

His pregnant girlfriend Nicole Vallejos was also shot in the abdomen. She was rushed from St. Mary Corwin Hospital to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs where she delivered a baby boy who later died from his injuries.

Detectives collected a laser gun sight, bullet fragments and casings and shoe impressions from the scene.

The bar owner also turned over surveillance that showed the attack in graphic detail. He told the officers he recognized the shooter as a man named Damien who also went by the nickname "Scrappy."
