Bessemer Neighborhood clean-up Saturday

It's that time of year for spring cleaning and Saturday May 1st there's a big clean-up scheduled in one of Pueblo's oldest neighborhoods. It's the 7th annual Bessemer Neighborhood clean-up.

Residents can drop off old appliances, tires, yard waste and other trash to the corner of Abriendo Ave. and Canal St. from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $15 per truckload.

"What we're hoping is that people will take pride in where they live and that they'll clean their yards up and bring all that trash that's in their front yards, their backyards, the couches, the mattresses," said Ray Aguilera, Vice President of the Pueblo City Council.

Last year, Aguilera says they collected about 44 large dumpsters worth of trash.
