Bicyclists log thousands of miles on work commute

Bicyclists in Pueblo rode about 7,500 miles to and from work between May 23 and June 23 in the Commuter Cup Challenge.

The Pueblo Active Community Environments group estimated that offset 679 car trips.  Fifty five people commuted on bikes at least a fourth of the time.

The average distance to work was just under 7 miles.  About 140 people registered, and an unknown number participated but did not register.

The most active bicyclist during the month was Troy Davenport, who reported he rode 599 miles.  Gwen Steves was second with 589 miles.
