We end the year mild but start the New Year with many ups and downs.
Skies will remain partly to mostly cloudy today. Highs will be in the upper 40°s to 50°s. (Colorado Springs: 54° | Pueblo: 57°)
Skies will remain much the same tonight. If you are going out tonight to kick off the new year temperatures will be in the upper 20°s to lower 30°s at midnight. (Colorado Springs: 33° | Pueblo: 29°)
A cold front will slide through southern Colorado between 10am and 1pm Wednesday. This will cause temperatures to fall through the late morning and afternoon. Expect to see temperatures in the 40°s Wednesday afternoon. There could also be light snow/light rain showers. I stress the word "light". At this point it isn't looking light much. Maybe an inch of snow in Colorado Springs and a dusting in Pueblo.
By end of the week we will see temperatures soar back to the 60°s before another cold front passes through the state. 60°s Friday fall to the 30°s Saturday. There is another chance for an accumulating snow Saturday.
There are hints of another cold front passing Monday. If computer models are correct, the front will be stronger and bring much colder air. Early projections suggest highs in the 20°s and low 30°s. Stay tuned... - Meterologist John Dissauer
