Bikes to be built for needy kids

Colorado Springs based Kids on Bikes will partner with Metro Rides to donate more than 30 bicycles to needy kids.

The bikes are being provided at cost through Giant Bicycle and paid for by Metro Rides.  Volunteers will put the bikes together on June 30 from 5 to 9 p.m. at 528 East Bijou in Colorado Springs.

Children were nominated by Community Partnership for Child Development, Marian House, Partners in Housing, Urban Peak, and Ft. Carson. A formal presentation of the bikes will happen between 3 - 3:30 p.m. on July 8 at America the Beautiful Park during the Freedom from Poverty Community Celebration.
