Trinidad Lake State Park will host area bird watchers at a meeting on April 16 at 9 a.m. at the park visitor center.

Trinidad Lake State Park is one of the stops on the Spanish Peaks Birding Trail, one of Colorado's great birding trails. Nearly running the gamut of Colorado habitats, the trail follows the Highway of Legends Scenic Byway for much of its length.

The park will provide a limited number of field glasses and birding guides on loan. Experienced birders will be around to answer questions and provide tips and pointers. Visitors can also pick up a free copy of the "Southeastern Colorado Trail Guide" and other area information of interest to birders.

For additional information contact the park at 719-846-6951 or Pat Patrick at interp.trinidad.lake@state.co.us
