COLORADO SPRINGS - Black Forest residents will soon be doing some long over due land scaping thanks to hundreds of donated trees and grass seed.
Victims of the Black Forest fire were lined up around the block to get supplies needed to get their yards back in shape.
Organizers said the grass and trees will help with erosion control, but perhaps the most important part is it gives the charred and dead area some new life again. It sparked a new attitude in some people who have been down for a long time.
"Its changed the mood of people. It has taken them from woes me to I'm moving forward. We're building the forest and restoring what we lost," said Nancy Bracken with Black Forest Together.
Don Bishop is one of the many victims hit hard by the fire.
"Everything helps. We need to bring it back. We need it," said Bishop.
All the trees and grass seed were donated by Black Forest Together and the Red Cross.
