Black Hills Energy says its moving forward with plans to build two natural gas plants in Pueblo. On Wednesday, the power company gave community leaders more specifics on the project.
Black Hills has purchased equipment and is now finalizing construction plans. The plants will be located on ten acres of land near the Pueblo airport and will employ up to 20 full time workers.
"Well everything that we continue to work with, continues to look very positive for us being able to build the project here. We have some permits that are pending," said Tom Ohlmacher, President and CEO of Black Hill Energy's non-regulated operating division.
If all goes as planned, Black Hills Energy hopes to start construction this summer and complete the plants by 2012.
