The body found in the west fork of Sand Creek Monday morning is described by Colorado Springs police as that of a "young adult male." That is the only description of the body recovered from receded waters alongside Town Center Drive, just south of East Platte Avenue between North Murray Boulevard and Wooten Road. An autopsy is being conducted to determine a precise manner and cause of death for the man, but multiple emergency response agencies tell News 5 that it is presumed the death is related to Sunday's flash flooding along Sand Creek. If confirmed, it would be the second death in Colorado Springs attributable to the historic flooding that has gripped Colorado since last Thursday. Police are not releasing the man's name or a clothing description until family members are notified. Police do not consider the death suspicious.
