Body of a missing man found with scan sonar technology in Pueblo Reservoir

Update: The man is identified as Jack Nelson from Fountain, Colorado. His body was located in the Boggs Creek Cove at the reservoir. The cove was also where he originally jumped in the water.

PUEBLO -- The body of a missing man was located and recovered from the Pueblo Reservoir on Saturday.

Park Rangers told News 5 that the 43-year-old man jumped into the water on Thursday and never came back up. The man was in an inflatable raft with his son and wife, both of whom survived.

Using side scan sonar technology, crews searched the area.

The rangers stopped looking for the man on Friday due to weather conditions. After the search efforts on Friday, officials had a good indication of where the body would be. They found him quickly on Saturday, 30-feet below water.

We will continue to update this story as we learn more information.
