ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - The body of a 41-year-old Dillon man who died while hiking near the Maroon Bells has been recovered with the help of a helicopter.
Authorities say David Morano died Saturday after falling more than 200 feet near Pyramid Peak about 2 miles east of the Maroon Bells.
The Aspen Times reports a team from Mountain Rescue Aspen used a helicopter Wednesday morning to fly near the area where David Morano fell.
Pitkin County sheriff's officials say rescuers had to use a longer cable than normally used in such recovery operations because of the steep, rugged terrain.
