Rescuers recovered a body from Lathrop State Park late yesterday, but few details are being released.
The search for the 24 year old man began about 2:30 Friday afternoon, after a friend reported him missing.
The victim had reportedly tried to swim out to an island in Horseshoe Lake when he disappeared under the water. The victim was not wearing a life jacket. Boat Rangers from Lake Pueblo State Park were assisted by the Pueblo County Dive Team in searching for the victim. It has apparently been difficult, because of the windy conditions.
Yesterday, high tech sonar was used in the search and the victim's body was located by the Pueblo County Sheriff's dive team.
The victim's name has not been released.
The Huerfano County Coroner will perform an autopsy.
